Over the past year we have continued to meet regularly on a Thursday evening at CarrickAcademy during term time. We have continued with yoga once a month and this has proved popular. Stephen Freeborn started as our new trainer in January and has gone from strength to strength and proved very reliable. Average numbers per week are over 11, so a slight improvement on last year. Membership fees have remained at £1 per session for those in employment and 50p for anyone else.

Members helped out over the past year at the ‘Where it Began’ concert in December and at Gala Day two weeks ago.

Last month, after months of intensive training, 10 of us completed the Mens Health Forum 10K with Thomas Cuthill leading the way. A tremendous achievement when our regular attendance averages just over 11.

Our new polo shirts arrived in November and were given to all those who wanted one. There is a page on our website showing photos of our polo shirts travels although it is not the same shirt all the time.

For the first time ever, following members requests, we organised weekly events throughout the summer last year and this proved so popular that we are repeating it this year. Last year we walked, played golf, worked out, tenpin bowled and skied.

Thanks – I would like to take this opportunity to officially thank some of our members, in no particular order. Dave Whiteman for his work as Treasurer over the past years, we wish him luck and happiness in Coylton. Brian Robertson for all his hard work on our website which is very impressive and always up to date and for agreeing to take on the role of Treasurer from Dave. Stewart and Jim for organising and leading our extra training for the 10K over the past 4 months and to Jamie Dunlop for all his efforts as our trainer over the past few years.

Peter Lynn ( Chairman )
